India's rocket to the moon Chandrayaan-1 has successfully been launched and it has started sending photos.The first images, which were received by the Indian Deep Space Network at Byalalu was later processed by the Indian Space Science Data Centre. The first picture shows the northern coast of Australia while the second image taken at 12:30 pm from a height of 70,000 km shows Australia's southern coast.

India launched, in the dawn of this Wednesday, its first ship not manned in lunar mission. The Chandrayaan-1 rocket - Lunar Ship in sanscrit - was launched of the space center Sriharikota, in the south of the country, and must remain two years in the space, during which it will make collection of data for other Indian space missions. Made by Taito, the original makers of Space Invaders, this alarm clock acts pretty much like your standard alarm clock. In fact, it sports a digital clock, snooze button, and a calendar. It also has flashing lights and plays sounds from the actual Space Invaders game which makes it even more adorable (to me anyways).
